First, access.

If you already have a domain name registered, to direct it to our servers, change the DNS Nameservers to:

• NS.TERASCAPE.NET
• NS2.TERASCAPE.NET

Setting up Email:

Click on the "e-mail" icon in your control panel. This is where you set up your email addresses. Enter in the information, and be sure to check "Anti-Spam" and "Anti-virus". TeraScape Servers come stocked with SpamAssassin to take care of a good number of blatant, unwanted spam & viruses. See http://spamassassin.apache.org for more information. You can also adjust the strength of SpamAssassin.

About mailbox size, our accounts are set up to use maximum space for your site needs. This means, if you signed up for one gigabyte of space, your site, databases & email addresses (each) are alloted one-gigabyte of space. You can customize the space allotted for each email address, or leave as is.

Once you set up your email, you can use these two webmail addresses:

http://email.terascape.net
http://email2.terascape.net (This one allows for individual password changes through webmail.)

For Outlook, Outlook Express, Evolution or Mozilla Thunderbird, the settings are as follows:

• Username: youremail@yourdomain.com (full email address)
• Password: password you entered
• POP: mail.yourdomain.com
• SMTP: mail.yourdomain.com

This works for other POP clients as well; i.e. Yahoo's, Hotmail's or Gmail's pop mail checker.

Accessing your site & Uploading Files:

You can use any FTP client to upload to your site, as well as the server's built-in File Manager. On the control panel, under "Tools", you'll find the File Manager. This allows you to upload or archive what you have already uploaded. It's also handy to execute .tar.gz files (downloaded CMS, PHP programs & such).

Remember, TeraScape uses Linux as it's operating system. Microsoft databases or .asp.net applications will not function. PHP is far more secure and advanced, and is the standard of some of the biggest, best websites out there.

For FTP:

This information is for wsFTP, Dreamweaver, other ftp or site building clients.
login: your control panel login (in lowercase letters)
pass: your password
server: web.terascape.net

Other Tools:

Under "Webserver", you'll find an icon called EazyApps. This allows virtually a one-click installation service for a number of popular programs. You'll also find "FrontPage Extensions" there as well. This does NOT give your account .asp usability. It only allows you to connect via Microsoft FrontPage.

Database Management is found under "Databases". Most PHP applications, like Joomla, Drupal, phpBB & such use Databases. Use this to create your database and give yourself Admin privileges for installation purposes.

Email设立：

点击控制面板上的e-mail来设定你的email地址。输入信息，确保在"Anti-Spam" 和 "Anti-virus"前面打钩。TeraScape服务器上装有SpamAssassin 能够排除大量的垃圾和病毒。更多信息可登陆http://spamassassin.apache.org。你可以自由调整SpamAssassin的功效强度。

关于邮箱容量，我们的帐户会按照您网址所需的最大空间设定。也就是说，如果你签约1GB的空间，你的网页、数据库和每一个email都享有1GB的空间，你可以选择调整每一个email的大小或者全部采用标准化大小。

Email设定好了之后，你可以使用下列两个地址：

• http://email.terascape.net
• http://email2.terascape.net 这一个可以通过webmail自由改动密码。

对于Outlook, Outlook Express, Evolution 或者Mozilla Thunderbird, 设置如下：

• 用户名: youremail@yourdomain.com(整个 email 地址)
• 密码: 请自己输入
• POP: mail.yourdomain.com
• SMTP: mail.yourdomain.com

这对其他 POPemai l如Yahoo's, Hotmail's 或 Gmail's也同样有效。

登陆网站&上传文档：

你可以使用任何FTP或者服务器自带的文档管理器将文档上传至网页中。打开控制面板，在“工具”下面就可以找到文档管理器。通过它你可以上传或者存档已经上传的文档，也可以很方便地执行.tar.gz 文档 (下载的CMS, PHP 程序等).

注意：TeraScape 的操作系统为 Linux，所以无法使用Microsoft 数据库或 .asp.net。PHP 更加安全和先进，一些最大最好的网站都是使用PHP.

对于FTP:

对于 wsFTP, Dreamweaver, 其他 ftp 或网络设立工具：

登陆: 控制面板登陆 (字母小写)
密码: 你的密码
服务器: web.terascape.net

其他工具：

在"Webserver"下面你会看到 EazyApps，点击一下就可以安装一些常用程序。你也会看到"FrontPage Extensions"，这不代表说你可以直接使用.asp，而是让你通过Microsoft主页连接。

在“Databases”下面可以找到数据库管理器，对大多数PHP工具，如Joomla, Drupal, phpBB等都使用数据库，通过这个工具你可以创建数据库并且有安装管理权。
